You should contact the assessor if you have questions or concerns regarding your property assessment. You can request a review of your assessment at any time. Property owners with new appraisals can have the assessor review the appraisal to see how it compares to the assessed value.
Changes or corrections to your assessment will be processed during the next available review period. The review period for assessments begins January 1st. of the tax year and ends after the closing of the board of review. State statues require the board of review start no earlier than the 2nd Monday of May. The actual date is posted at the town posting sites and published in the town’s official newspaper. Whenever changes are made to your assessment, you will be mailed a notice listing the change and dates of the open book and board of review. If you wish to appeal your assessment you must provide written or oral notice of your intent to file an objection to the Town Clerk. The notice of intent to file an objection must be made at least 48 hours before the Board's first scheduled meeting .
